The Ministry of 2ND Mile began in 1986 and has continued to grow as the group performs in churches and at concerts across the southeastern part of America. Simple but sincere southern gospel music that speaks to the heart of the listener has always been a trademark of the group. The year 1996 saw 2ND Mile score their first Singing News top 80 chart song with the moving ballad, “In Your Hands.” Founding group members, Reggie Lovorn and Richard Ferguson are excited about the songs on their project from Megoa Music, entitled “JUST THAT WAY.” The material includes the hard driving southern gospel tunes, “I Was There” and the fun sound of the title cut, “He’s Just that Way”. The project also includes the big ballads, “God Will Have A Church,” and “What Does He Have To Do”. A 2ND MILE concert will feature these new tunes as well as some traditional hymns of the church from their latest recording, "Hymns And Things". This project is a first for the group in that it features only hymns and classic songs. "Hymns And Things" features songs such as "I'd Rather Have Jesus", "Sheltered in the Arms of God", and "Grace Greater Than Our Sin." Information about ordering these and all of 2ND Mile's projects is available on the products page of the web site.

Veteran vocalist Robby Bennett rounds out the vocal group, with musician Tim Buchanan providing instrumental support. A concert by 2ND Mile includes music, personal testimony, and humor and is sure to leave the listener refreshed and renewed.

2ND Mile performs at numerous churches and church related functions each year. They enjoy their work of encouraging the church in it's daily work to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each member is a professing born-again Christian and part of a local church in which they work in addition to their responsibilities with 2ND Mile.

The group also gives support to several other worthy causes. These include local Crisis Pregnancy Centers, The work of the American Cancer Soceity through Relay for Life fund raisers, the Philadelphia, Neshoba County Disabled Children's Foundation and the Righteous Oaks Recovery Center located near Chuncky, MS.
